If ever there was a time to be thinking about the future of cannabis, it’s right...

If ever there was a time to be thinking about the future of cannabis, it’s right here and now. Sure, the industry’s volatility is currently assured – as today’s stories show – but on balance, given all of the good it can do in the world, now’s never been a better time for those looking at entering the sector to make a real positive impact on its future.

We certainly saw that at CB Expo in Dortmund a couple of weeks back; and while there are many accomplished professionals already working in cannabis, it’s clear the industry needs outside expertise in its ongoing quest to ‘professionalise’.

It’s happening people! Times are changing.

Oh yeah, if you haven’t already, check out our latest video: thermidor< x CB Expo 2023

Tongue Thai'd

Could the Thai government be considering a 360 on cannabis? Sales could be limited to medical-only within six months – if new prime minister, Srettha Thavisin, has his way. Let’s hope it’s all hot air designed to placate hardline voters…

Dutch Pilot Has Go Live Date

It’s several years in the making, but the Netherlands’ official adult-use cannabis pilot is set to go live on 15th December. So far two cultivators have signed up to supply coffeeshops in the cities of Breda and Tilburg, with more expected to take part in early 2024.

UK Patient Pleads For Greater NHS Access

A UK patient is calling on the National Health Service (NHS) to make medical cannabis more accessible. Conor Ryder, who has Tourettes, is currently spending over £300 per month to cover the cost of his private prescription – which significantly reduces his tics.

Cabinet Cover Up

The UK Home Office has come under fire for allegedly ignoring a 2016 report on decriminalising cannabis. Stranger still is the fact they fought for three years to keep this confidential after a Freedom of Information request.

Danish Destruction

WTAF?? The Danish authorities have almost inexplicably seen fit to destroy over 145,000 kg of cannabis – more than the total amount of the country’s output under its medical pilot programme. Just… how? And… why??

Cannabis Getting 'Crafty'

In more positive news, it’s hoped that the craft cannabis industry will eventually mirror the success of craft brewing as a disruptive force for good. After all, who doesn’t want high quality, unique strain products?
