Well, that was a week(!). With Cannabis Europa in full swing for a truly full-on coup

Well, that was a week(!). With Cannabis Europa in full swing for a truly full-on couple of days, we were on the ground tapping up smart folk for interviews and generally getting a feel for where the industry is at right now.

It’s clear that despite the troubles of many different parts of the cannabis landscape, change is happening, and by and large it’s positive change. There’s work to be done, for sure, but you can’t not be excited about how quickly the whole thing is coming up.

State of Lux

Luxembourg has been making noises around rec for a little while now, but now they’ve published a plan for it. They’re in a particularly interesting spot politically, being wedged between steadily progressive Germany and traditionally prohibitionist France. Watch this (small-but perfectly-formed geographical) space(!)

This Reeks

Cannabis shouldn’t be pay-to-play. So, the fact that Oregon Secretary of State, Shemia Fagan, has been on the payroll of retail chain La Mota just stinks. Far be it from us to be a voice of right and wrong, but c’mon… this is some bullshit.

Reality Czech

Czechia is getting a lot of attention right now, with them seemingly following Germany’s steps like a well-trained dance partner. But alongside their push for a rec market, they’re also cracking down on CBD product sales. What’s going on here?

Sun Shining

The Florida House has passed a revised version of a Hemp Bill that seems to be getting widespread backing from the industry. Removing THC caps has been the big bone of contention, but now that they’re out the way it heads to the Governor for sign-off.

That's How It Crumbles

Cookies has done a good job of managing the press swirling around an ongoing lawsuit, but in what I’m sure they’ll see as a big win, one of the people bringing the case – who also sued the company earlier this year – is dropping the lawsuit. There’s a lot going on here, so dive in.

Fry-Hard

And to round off a week with a lot of politically-heavy stories, we thought we’d finish with something foody. Have you ever eaten cannabis leaves? Well, apparently, if you haven’t been deep-frying them, then you’ve seriously been missing out.
