Happy May Day thermidorks<! In between our very British seasonal pagan rituals, we figured we’d take time out to bring you our weekly roundup of all of the tidbits and big sh*ts that’ve been happening across the canna-verse over the past seven days.
And (ICYMI) it’s Cannabis Europa tomorrow and Wednesday (and here’s some vintage Kraftwerk to acknowledge the fact)! We’ll be there with bells on (like the saucy fellas in the gif below…no bull – kinda) sodo come say hi. We’d love to chat.
One of the most peculiar things about cannabis is the lexicon. You’ve got blunts, bowls, bongs, etc. But where it really gets tricky is in all the mad names. So why is it that you’ll hear of strain names like Girl Scout Cookies x Pink Gelato? Here’s your answer.
400 Burger King staff were laid off last week following the closure of 26 franchise locations. But, the cannabis industry was on hand to help out. STIIIZY opened its doors and almost immediately filled 200 positions in its Michigan manufacturing facility. Awesome sauce.
For allegedly coordinating the smuggling of just over two pounds of weed into Singapore in 2018, Tangaraju Suppiah was executed last week. We’re genuinely lost for words on this story. Irrespective even of the amount – it’s fucking weed. Get a grip, Singapore.
Ben Cohen, (aka. Ben of Ben & Jerry’s fame) has started a new venture called Ben’s Best Blnz or B3 for short. B3 is a non-profit cannabis line that aims to help right the wrongs of the ‘war on drugs’. Extra ‘brownie’ points go to them for growing cannabis in soil using no non-organic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. Sweet(!).
Swiss Kannavations have a great vision. They want to close the gender health gap that exists, through the research and development of products designed for women. They’re doing great work: be sure to look out for them in our upcoming Cannabis Europa content.
Looking for something to do in New York? I mean, frankly, there’s plenty to do there. But, if you’re looking for something cannabis-centric, then this is for you. A 5-story museum dedicated to weed culture and education – yes please(!).
