We’re rolling nuggets of news from all over the shop today. From Latin America to Kabul, and a fair amount in between. It’s been a great week for interesting stories, so buckle up, neck that coffee, and prepare to be informed(!).
In the name of tactless self promotion, have you seen what else we got up to at Spannabis? We held a little event for friends, new and old, here’s part 1 of The Green Boutique Sessions.
Liberal ideals and sensible outlooks are not really what the Taliban are known for. In spite of having spent years financing their operations through opium cultivation, they have now banned the cultivation of weed. Looking at this from another angle though, that means if weed is illegal in your country, your government has a similar position to the Taliban. *Sighs*
A bill in Nevada hopes to allow on-site cannabis vending at adult-only events. (Ok, so it’s technically not vending machines, but we really wanted an excuse to use this slightly odd gif). Right now in the US, only California allows (legal) cannabis sales at events.
A Brazilian appeals court has approved a request to consider whether it is legal for companies and farmers to grow cannabis on Brazilian soil. This could pave the way for the legal cultivation of cannabis for medicinal and industrial purposes – big potential, basically.
In what feels like a big departure from their previous stance on all things cannabis, France has openly admitted that it is closely following the developments of a legal market in Germany. Just need that first domino to fall and Europe could be covered in (legal) green very quickly.
A conservative think tank, Heritage Foundation, has called for Prince Harry to be deported following his admission of using cannabis, shrooms, and other drugs. If you’re out there presenting the positives of cannabis, you get our vote – nice work Hazza’.
Far from understanding the deep intricacies of the legislative frameworks that need to exist in order for legal trade to happen, we were caught by this story out of Washington. A senate bill is being advanced that will make cross-state cannabis trade legal, when it’s federally legal. Confused? Have a read, it’s actually super interesting.
