Without the lows, we’d never come to appreciate the highs. So while we’re fresh off

Without the lows, we’d never come to appreciate the highs.

So while we’re fresh off the plane from Spannabis (hence the late posting!) with a lot more vim and verve; we’d like to take a moment to honor the loss of a true cannabis icon: Dr Raphael Mechoulam, the ‘Godfather of THC’ who died at age 92 late last week.

We’re thankful for his work; his passion; and commitment to leaving the world a better place than he found it. Few of us can truly attest to that.

Sir, we salute you.

Knowing Your Limits

Australia may be waking up to the cannabis cause with renewed vigor; but with that comes tighter regulation. And when it comes to navigating a topic as tricky as ‘driving under the influence’, many medical cannabis patients still live in fear of incrimination when behind the wheel – as tests are able to detect traces for weeks after – even when not intoxicated.

Not 'OK' With This

Despite all the positive marijuana murmurings from the US state of Oklahoma, a recent vote on the topic of adult use cannabis leaned hard against it: 62%, in fact. While it’s a definite setback, we’re sharing the pro-campaign leader’s (Michelle Tilley) long term optimism: “marijuana legalization is not a question of 'if,' it’s a question of 'when’.

Hawaii Green Lights Rec Use

In other – more positive news – the Hawaii Senate has approved a bill to legalize recreational marijuana. Called SB 669, this measure was approved by the Senate and now heads to the state House of Representatives for consideration. Does this mean it’s legal? All in good time…

Argentina: Half A Billion Boost

Though recreational cannabis is ‘technically’ illegal in Argentina, a relaxed medical homegrow stance has been so successful that the government aims to boost revenues by allowing private companies to produce it too. And with projected revenues of up to $500 million being mooted, other nations should be taking notes.

Trashed Panda

You’ve heard of the ridiculousness/awesomeness (delete as appropriate) that is Cocaine Bear by now, surely(?)… but how about Cannabis Racoon? You mighta seen this one before. This little guy was clocked just outside of Vancouver, Canada a few years back (ironically not long after legalization) with cannabis (and benzos – what was he thinking?) in his system. But with an ursine cocaine rampage trending, the tale (tail?) of Sechelt’s stoned trash panda is doing the rounds again.
