The Mall of The Future

A “cannabis super center” in the Mojave desert – sounds fun right? Well, this past week, the Barstow City Council approved 23 cannabis licenses attached to the project with the aim of creating cultivation spaces and retail sites all in one spot.

If you’re an advocate for cannabis then you probably keep a few solid arguments or stats holstered for when you need to defend the cause. A study in Spain of over 600,000 residents found that long-term cannabis use does not impact health – not a bad source to keep in the chamber.

With cannabis adoption steamrolling its way through much of the western world, so far there hasn’t been a huge uptake in the east – barring the excellent Thailand of course. So it’s extremely encouraging that Japan is proposing a legal revision to allow for medical cannabis in some circumstances. Hey, progress is progress.

In what feels like a very big moment for cannabis legalization more broadly, Roland Conner, who felt the burn of the war on drugs more keenly than most, has opened only the second legal dispensary in New York. Right on.

Opportunity North of The Wall

Here in the UK, we’re seeing mounting interest in developing a domestic medical cannabis supply chain, which is perfectly highlighted by Scotland-based Hilltop Leaf, which has just secured £2 million to scale its infrastructure. Anything will be an improvement in the current state of affairs.
