With August about to head into the rearview, we’re looking firmly ahead. CB Expo in a couple of weeks will see us set up a confession booth of sorts, more info on that to follow, as well as some extra filming on site which will keep us more than busy.
That means there’ll be a bunch of content flying around in September and we’re always looking for new angles on this lovely industry. If you’ve got a facility, clinic, storage unit — heck a bong museum would be brilliant — then hit us up. We want to film that lovely line when business meets culture in the world of cannabis.
We often talk about the moments you realise cannabis has actually made it. Where it’s a part of the everyday fabric of people’s lives. In Ohio, The Cleveland School of Cannabis is educating students on all the different facets of working in the industry. A school for people who want to work in the cannabis industry? Sounds small but it ain’t.
If there’s one thing that cannabis operators really don’t need it’s being muscled out of their own market by players in the alcohol industry. Sure, they do have experience in developing a previously prohibiting market but let's not get apples and oranges confused.
Never thought we’d be writing about the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission, but hey, this is cannabis so nothing should really be a surprise at this point. The taxation of cannabis sales has managed to buoy contributions from about $40,000 to $1,300,000. You’re very welcome, nature.
Now, we can’t actually confirm it’s going to be a bus and our only real comparison here is mobile libraries, but The Red Lake Nation, a Minnesotan tribe, are planning on starting a mobile cannabis dispensary. Rock on guys and gals, that’s most excellent.
If it’s not Germany copping all the cannabis hype right now, it’s the lovely nation of Thailand. One of our thermidorks<, Dave Barton, was on the ground to see it for himself a couple weeks back, but this NY Times article does a good job of looking at what’s next for the market.
A second tax story this week, but don’t yawn, it’s a good’un. Cannabis tax revenue in Colorado exceeds both tobacco and alcohol. For 2022-2023 the industry handed over $282.3 million. Sure it’s a super-developed, and often overtaxed market, but this is how you win hearts and minds more broadly.
thermidor< is a content-led, cannabis-focused, creative agency. We work with B2B, B2C, and D2C brands to develop messaging, brand, and tone of voice, as well as create written, audio, and visual content such as blogs, whitepapers, podcasts, and event films.
