This is the last time you’ll be reading the lobsterpot< in your inbox. Don’t be sad though… because we’re moving it to LinkedIn! If you aren’t on there, then get with the cool kids, and follow thermidor<, ya hear?!.
It’s also the last time we’ll be sourcing weed related quotes from famous faces. That means we need to finish with a biggy. A real A lister in cannabis.
See you in the New Year(!).
“Excuse me while I light my spliff. Oh God I gotta take a lift.”
A local man supplying patients in need of medical cannabis off his own back should be a thing that is celebrated and not demonised – let alone criminalised. There has been much talk of progress in Irish cannabis law in the past couple weeks, this is not it however.
The potential of psychedelics isn’t even close to being fully realised. But, there are now a bunch of studies throwing out some genuinely interesting ideas. A new study, published in Frontiers in Space Technologies, postulates that psychedelics could help astronauts returning from long ventures in outer space.
Big props to our friends at Helius Therapeutics, who this week have become the first company in New Zealand to receive a licence for creating THC-containing medicine. Not a bad end to their year, that’s for sure(!).
As progress continues to snowball worldwide with regard to cannabis legalisation, there are a few stubborn areas still holding out for…ok we don’t really know why. Texas is one of them, where voters actually want to decriminalise – but city officials are standing in the way.
A couple months back we gave a little spotlight to Guam, where the retail cannabis market was opening up, seemingly out of nowhere. Since then though, no one has actually applied for a retail cannabis licence. Hmmmm.
Albeit delayed, Europe’s first THC adult use cannabis trial is set to kick off in January, with around 370 participants set to receive both hash and THC flower products. It’s set to be a year and a half long, and it’s funny to think that by the time it finishes, Switzerland’s neighbour might have made the whole thing legal anyway.
