We’ve officially crossed the threshold of a year of this newsletter!

We’ve officially crossed the threshold of a year of this newsletter! And while (admittedly) rather cliche, it truly does feel like the last year has flown by in the blink of an eye. It’s actually really nice to track back through and see how much things have changed even in twelve months. But what will the next twelve bring?

Also, in case we haven’t touted the therms< trumpet enough recently, if you haven’t already seen it, check out our lil’ vid from MJBizCon where we had a suitably Vegas time and met some thoroughly brilliant people.

“None of my kids drink, but smoke … responsibly," he said. "I try to be an example, try not to be hypocritical. How can I tell them not to when I do? It's just the way that I do, I do it very respectfully.”

Snoop Dogg

Is That The Emerald Isle?
Ireland is well and truly joining the cannabis conversation in Europe! The powers-that-be are introducing a bill to legalise recreational cannabis for personal use. The main aim is to amend the existing Misuse of Drugs Act so that anyone over 18 can hold 7g. Vibrating with excitement if they can pull it off!

Big Apple Kush

With retail licenses *finally* making their way to 36 lucky recipients, it might feel like the legal NYC weed scene is stalled a little. But word on the street is that these retailers may be able to start home delivery before actually opening their storefronts. Sounds convenient.

Crim Trim

Confirming what most of us already know, researchers in the US have produced a study that demonstrates that cannabis legalisation does not lead to an increase in crime. Well, does that settle it then? We’ll certainly use it to help bang the drum(!).

Known Unknowns

The excellent peeps over at Volteface have just released Known Unknowns, a true deep dive into the perceptions, concerns, and hopes of UK clinicians for medical cannabis. It’s an unbelievably well researched piece that was recently presented at Westminster. Seriously – read it.

Study This Carefully

Big Joey B has this week signed a cannabis research bill into law. Many political commentators – even those outside of cannabis – believe that this represents a marked shift in attitudes toward federal cannabis policy. We shall see.

A Vegas First (Kinda)

While there is a cannabis lounge ‘in’ Vegas, NUWU actually resides on Native American land. But this week, Nevada regulators awarded the State’s first consumption lounge license –  following a very popular lottery.
