The greatest service that can be rendered to any country is to add a useful plant...

We’re less than a week away from Santa casing the joint and leaving presents to bring us cheer, so we’re left thinking about all that has been great in 2021 – as well as what we have to look forward to in 2022.

“More freedom to enjoy a plant” is top of out wishlist. Doesn’t sound like too much to ask for, right?!

Coming from one of the OG Americans, this quote is particularly fitting this week, as reform in marijuana legislation continues to be driven forward.

“The greatest service that can be rendered to any country is to add a useful plant to its culture” – Thomas Jefferson

A Fine Malt(a)

Malta, a small island in the Mediterranean Sea, has become a leader in weed rights – as its parliament voted to legalize cannabis. Basically, it promotes private consumption rather than pushing for a large legal market; but definitely worth keeping an eye on their progress.

Seriously Baked

We remember the days of obsessing over the latest Guinness World Records anthology. It’s fair to say that this enormous edible – rumoured to be the world’s largest hash brownie – would easily make a glossy half page spread in latest edition of that wonderful tome.

Down The Hatch

We’ll try almost anything, especially if it’s weed-related. Smoke, vape, chew, rub: just pick a verb we’ll have a crack at it. But drink? Now, that has been an elusive mistress when it comes to cannabis consumption. But Ceria is leading the charge in a wonderfully startup-styled ‘garage-to-consumer’ model.

Bun da Reefa

What if this great industry could lead to more than just great tasting, high bringing weed What if the plant we all know and love could provide the world with cleaner energy? This fantastic piece from Leafie takes a dive into how hemp could change the world in more ways than one.

Power of Attorney

In so many ways we see the East as a beacon of progress and innovation. However, when it comes to bud, they seem to be headed in the opposite direction. Police in Japan have bolstered their arsenal for the fight against cannabis use by enlisting video game giant Capcom to encourage young people to stay away from cannabis.

Pfizer and Shine

One of the emergent heroes of the past couple years, Pfizer, have taken some of their sweet pandemic cash and used it to buy up Arena in a multi-billion dollar deal which will bring cannabis studies even further into the mainstream.
