Alright, alright, chill it with the frikkin’ heat already(!).

Alright, alright, chill it with the frikkin’ heat already(!). Sorry. We’ve been cooped up indoors during another splendid round of the UK’s finest sunshine party and to say that we’re a little frazzled would be a serious understatement.

Today our grain of wisdom comes from an ex-president who is only a few years away from hitting a full century on this planet. This previous pres actually spoke in support of cannabis decriminalisation back in the late 70s and he might just have been on to something ya know?

"Penalties against possession of a drug should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself, and where they are they should be changed."

Jimmy Carter

We 4C Good Things

Guernsey based medical cannabis company 4C Labs have become the first business to receive a wholesale distribution licence from the UK government. They’ve been working hard to make this happen and they were kind enough to talk about it on the lobsterpot< podcast not so long ago. Good work chaps, can’t wait to see what comes next(!).

Wake Up And Smell The Coffee

What exactly the Thai government intended when they made sweeping changes to cannabis policy we’re not sure. But what has happened is widespread misunderstanding of what is and isn’t allowed. Because of this cannabis, coffeeshop culture is already beginning to crop up despite it not actually being allowed.

He’s Right, It Has Failed

Did you know that Colombia recently swore in its first leftist leader President Gustavo Petro? Left and right are relative, but in his opening speech, he spoke of how the war on drugs has failed and that successfully tackling many of the problems the country faces is dependent on sensible drug policies in other nations. Preach.

Gotta’ Cultivate To Accumulate

Hemp is experiencing somewhat of a revival in Scotland and this year it’s predicted that there will be 25 separate hemp harvests. Word is getting out there that this is a special crop. Funny really, considering how much of it the Scots used to grow. This is a great piece covering the here and now as well as the history of the crop’s success north of the wall.

How Much?!

Thought you’d only have to read about Guernsey once today? Well, you’d be wrong, because we wanted to give some more space here to highlight some of the problems for cannabis consumers on the small island in the English channel.

Big Hand For Charlie B

We’ll always make noise about great legislative choices and progressive ways of thinking. So this week our spotlight spins around to Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker who signed a package of cannabis industry reforms including social equity, tax reforms, and even trials for consumption cafes. *salutes*
