Unlike an Uber leak, we’ll not be spoiling your morning with any disappointing news. In fact, today we’re swooping through the UK’s political sitch’, as well as some great work from our furry best friends – and even some science thrown in for good measure.

If the three people Jay Leno mentions below walked into a bar, at least it would make a great start to a joke. But, in all seriousness, there are people who have had cannabis who don’t enjoy it – but why should that stop the rest of us? That’s like trying to ban pineapple on pizza(!).

“Forty million Americans smoked marijuana; the only ones who didn't like it were Judge Ginsberg, Clarence Thomas, and Bill Clinton.” Jay Leno

Primed Minister

Upheaval this week in the UK political sphere means that the race for a new PM could leave the cannabis sector with a slew of politicians trying to make their mark. Could they use cannabis as part of that effort? What is their historical stance on weed?

Pass The Smell Test

Bio Detection K9 (BDK9), based in Columbus, Ohio, offers a specialist service where their highly trained dogs are able to detect pathogens in both humans and plants. This means that we are now better able to tackle disease detection across hemp and cannabis farms.

Deeper Dive

At Cannabis Europa, Lead Analyst at Prohibition Partners, Conor O’Brien, delivered an excellent look into some of the insight gained from the European Cannabis Report: 7th Edition. One big figure was the 750% rise in unlicensed medical cannabis products being prescribed in the UK.

Bright Idea

For a bizarre moment, we actually think we beat Neil deGrasse Tyson to an idea. Mr. Tyson has stumbled upon a stoned thought we’ve had many times over the years – what is the medicinal potential of so far ‘unsmoked’ plants?

New Cannabinoid On The Block

Have you heard of THC-P? Well, Tetrahydrocannabiphorol is thought to be 33 times stronger than regular ol’ THC. Although not a lot is known about THC-P it has begun filtering into new products in the US, but will it take over THC’s dominant share of the market? In a word – unlikely.

In The Army Now?

As if there weren’t already enough uses for Hemp that we can quote in times of trivia need, now the U.S. Army wants to make Ghillie suits out of it. If you haven’t already got the lowdown on hemp you really should find out more – it’s going to be cropping up a lot in the not too distant future.
