If you’re trying to shelter from regular news you’re in the right place.

If you’re trying to shelter from regular news you’re in the right place. We try to cover news and info from all parts of the spectrum here and our only agenda is to show cannabis in an honest light. It isn’t a perfect plant but it does do a lot of good for a lot of people.

We had the pleasure of attending a Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society event this past week and we heard from some brilliant speakers, including Professor Mike Barnes, who waxed lyrical on the state of medical cannabis in the UK to an enraptured audience. Want to find out more? Check out our write up(!).

“That is not a drug. It’s a leaf.” Arnold Schwarzenegger

On Full Show

While we see behind the scenes in a lot of American grow ops, it’s rare to get an insight into the UK cultivation industry. This brilliant pulling back of the curtain shows what it’s like inside Celadon Pharmaceuticals West Midlands plant and just how serious this business can be.

Big Steps

Lots of UK bits this week but this announcement is actually very important. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has set up a drug commission to investigate the effects of decriminalisation. Naturally, the political sphere has banded against or at least distanced itself from the idea but it is genuine progress.

Living Rent Free

The shift in Thailand's cannabis outlook in the past few years is quite staggering. This week, ahead of cultivation legalization in June, Thailand’s Public Health Minister has made plans to give away up to 1 million cannabis plants – talk about giving back(!).

Power Couple

Lots of movement in the African cannabis scene at the moment. A big sign-off in Zimbabwe this week with the president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, commissioning a farm worth $27 million that will be handled by Swiss Bioceuticals. It also helps firm up Swiss investment in the future which is big for Zimbabwe as they pivot away from tobacco.

Class Is In Session

Having got to listen to Professor Mike Barnes’ recent talk all about medical cannabis we can wholeheartedly say that this article is every bit as valuable as it is comprehensive. If you want solid insight into where the UK is with medical cannabis there isn’t a better place to start.

In Parallel

The cannabis industry is in a unique position to create a space that is fairer to everyone and more inclusive. Very often the idea of social initiatives gets shut down due to cost but because of its emerging market status, positive social impact can actually align with business goals.
