It's officially here, the cardinal day in the cannabis calendar - good ol’ 4/20(!). Although its origins are heavily disputed, crowds celebrate the day in public spaces all over the world and it’s actually a beautiful coming together of the community.

We’ll know for sure that cannabis has made it when Hallmark starts doubling down on the 20th of April and we end up swimming in “Wish you were high” greeting cards.

“If you make it legal it becomes like liquor. Like at a liquor store you have to be a certain age to get it, you have to have ID when you go in, you have the different kinds. And it will be utilized and taxed the same way that they do liquor. They’ll make money. It’s the same that they do with cigarettes.” Whoopi Goldberg

Bud Backed Budgets

Because of the rapid increase in cannabis sales across the United States, local governments are making deals with businesses to acquire money for new public services. Hoboken, New Jersey has made agreements that already represent an additional $300,000 for the area.

Music To Our Ears

These super groovy tunes are created using some funky tech technology. Old Pal Provisions bring this great video to life and show the power of PlantWave at Ladybug Farms in California. The music made from their lovely Lemon strains is just damn cool(!).

A Reason To Quit

Between June 2019 and May 2020, more Americans died from drug overdoses than at any other time in history. A team of Israeli researchers found that the patients in their study who reported using opioids decreased or stopped completely following cannabis being available as an alternative.

Five By Five

Rather than just smoking, vaping, or eating more cannabis you can actually achieve a more powerful high with a few key lifestyle changes. Perhaps surprisingly, one of them includes exercise and releasing dormant THC in your fat reserves. Gotta love science.

Crypto Cashing In

While cash has always been king, it leaves businesses at particular risk of theft. Liquidity in the cannabis sector is particularly interesting because of a lack of federal legalization meaning banking options are often very limited. Crypto, though, might just be the answer.

Vacation Mode

Living your best life doesn’t just have to be experiencing cannabis in your own home. It can actually form a big part of a holiday. If sampling the best and brightest from the North American scene sparks your interest this page is for you.

Grey Area

Spanish police recently raided a cannabis plantation and subsequently destroyed over 400,000 cannabis plants. Where it all gets a bit sticky is that this was all low THC hemp. This is where unified reform is needed because businesses are getting caught up in gaps in the law, where something isn’t, but sort of is, illegal all at the same time.

One For The Reading List

Prohibition Partners have put together a cracking report on the state of cannabis. There’s some great insight into the growth of the UK medical with signs that doctors are increasing prescriptions as more clinics come online.
