We’re looking at the best wake ‘n bakes from around the world.

Back at it again! You can’t keep great weed at bay and this month’s What’s Hot In Pot goes to prove just that. We’re looking at the best wake ‘n bakes from around the world. The type of weed to energize you in the morning, to give you that extra flair before you take on the day.

Many medical users cite cannabis as playing a big part in increasing their appetite – particularly in the morning when tackling breakfast seems like an arduous task. Whatever the reason, if you’re going to partake just after dawn you’d best pick a fine strain to start the day.

Jack Herer

Developed in the Netherlands in the mid-90s this historic strain is named after one of the OG cannabis activists – Jack Herer. With years of campaigning for positive cannabis legislation and even a couple of runs for president, he was a rad dude.

This strain is a brilliant 55% Sativa/Indica hybrid and tokers report it giving clear-headed and creative vibes after consumption. All that is bundled into a flower that can be ready for harvest in under 3 months. Sounds just about perfect for a morning puff.

Lilac Diesel

Much like JH, Lilac Diesel is a 50/50 Indica/Sativa hybrid – created by crossing the famous Silver Lemon Haze X Forbidden Fruit and NY Cherry Pie X Citral Glue strains. Its mint-colored green nugs are super distinct and you’d pick it out of any lineup.

Reviews report that the high begins with a euphoric buildup as your head begins to fill with tingling energy and your body feels physically soothed. There are certainly worse ways to start your morning(!).

XJ 13

This little beauty is actually one of the offspring of Jack Herer. Fused with the famous JH and G13 Haze it boasts one of the best buzzes of any bud in the world. 20% THC is, for some, the gold standard for the morning because it’s energizing without readying you for take-off.

As a strain that can do wonders for mood, newbies to pot have found that it brings its A-game without feelings of paranoia or anxiety. For that very reason, it’s become very popular as a stress reliever in both the medical and recreational scenes.

Chocolope

Away from the hybrids, strains like Chocolope use their Sativa dominance to produce a truly creative high that can fire the brain into a state of positive thought. Providing a smooth inhale with chocolatey, coffee-ish tones it’s a real sweet smoke.

Chocolope's flavors are rather appropriate given the morning theme and this glorious strain provides an energizing and motivating high, ideal for people seeking inspiration for their everyday work or just a nice buzz on the weekend.
